Is your vehicle under a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recall campaign?

If you want to make sure that your ride isn’t under a current recall, simply log onto the NHTSA website and enter your vehicle identification number (VIN). It’s as easy as that.
Your VIN can be read by standing outside the vehicle and looking through the lower left (driver’s) corner of the front windshield. The VIN has seventeen characters stamped or etched on a small metal tab.
The vehicle production date (Month/Year) may also be helpful. It is usually located inside of the driver door jamb.

Vehicles Affected: Certain 2011-2016 Porsche Cayenne vehicles manufactured from April 28, 2010 through January 11, 2016. Approximately 88,300 vehicles are expected for inclusion in this recall campaign.
Cause:
The brake pedal pivot pin may be missing a sir-clip, allowing the pivot pin to move and the brake pedal to dislodge.
Concern:
If the brake pedal dislodges, the driver may not be able to apply the brakes, increasing the risk of a motor vehicle crash.
Correction:
Porsche will notify owners with specific instructions for contacting a qualified and dealer that will inspect the brake pedal assembly sir-clip, installing any missing sir-clips, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243.
